Soulful Sunday – The F.O.G.

There are times in our lives when we enter into periods of great natural uncertainty. These questionable times may have been forced on us or a result of taking great leaps of faith.

We can be tempted to view this season to walking in a thick hazy fog. We can’t see a thing when attempting to focus our gaze in any direction. We question what’s in the presence of this overwhelming mist. How did it suddenly infiltrated our lives and when will it begin to thin out and ultimately fade away? We want to regain control of our vision and feel a level of certainty of what lies ahead.

Personally, I find myself under these very circumstances today. I’m here due to responding to the voice of God to “Let Go” of what I’ve found the most security in. My Job, My Will, My Way…..

I’ve prayed about this move for months. Visualized and dreamt about the shift. I have also been simultaneously gripped with fear about how it will all work out. (RealBoldTruth) For more time than necessary I remained paralyzed in my faith. All the while God kept instructing me to take a step out of what I deem to be crystal clear into The F.O.G. Finally, I obeyed.

So here I stand. In a position that’s greatly unfamiliar and uncomfortable. However, it’s filled with amazing possibilities! I can’t afford to stumble around in the murkiness with unease concerning what lies within for the realm I have entered into is not smoldering obscurity but rather The Favor Of God!

F.OG. Is God navigating me towards my destiny now that I have completely given Him the reigns to do so in my life. I don’t want to steer anymore so I willingly forfeit my compass for His. In the F.OG. I am completely submerged with grace, protection, provision, miracles, status, regard and in line to receive all that I could have never obtained had I remained in my own “clear”.

Although I can’t see my way plainly, I have no fear, no worry and no regrets. A great peace sustains me is in this dimension as I prepare to be overtaken by The F.O.G.

As children of The Most High God, it is our birthright to get all that is ours while on this earth. Things big and things small. This entitlement requires faith coupled by sacrifice. Are you in position to be overtaken by The Favor of God? If not, enter in with hope and expectation that your Heavenly Father WILL show off in abundance just for YOU!

Until Next Time, Happy Sunday!

Soulful Sunday – Who Told You That??

Coming To America is one of my all time favorite comedies. To this day I can watch it over and over again like I’ve never seen it before. This movie is 30 years old! Debuting June 29, 1988 featuring Eddie Murphy in the role that truly put him on the map as a comedian like no other. I’ve seen it countless times and can quote many lines verbatim (Unapologetically!) it’s simply hilarious!

My teenage son was flipping through channels recently looking for something to watch and landed on a showing of the movie. I had not seen it in years but of course stopped in my tracks at the sound of the all too familiar script.

There was one line that stuck out as I was watching for the gazillionth time. It had an affect on me that I never considered before!

“WHO TOLD YOU THAT??”

For those who know the movie, this line was uttered by King Jaffe Joffer when Mr. McDowell’s youngest daughter proclaimed that the “Prince” was in love with her and not her sister.

With shock at this untruth, the King belted out the question with such deep command, force, authority and rule!

My spirit was instantly quickened that this is the exact question my Heavenly Father asks of me when I meditate on lies from the enemy. He only does it with 100x the power of King Jaffee!

Who told you that you can’t do it?

Who told you you’re not going to make it?

Who told you that you’re a mistake?

Who told you you’re not good enough?

Who told you that you’re a failure?

Who told you you’ll always be sick?

Who told you that you’ll always be broke?

Who told you that you’re not worthy?

WHO TOLD YOU THAT thing that makes you feel inadequate????

Like Adam in the garden when he sinned, eating from the forbidden tree of life, when God came looking for him, Adam responded that he hid himself because he was naked.

God instantly responded “Who Told You that you were naked?”

No one but the enemy in the form of a cowardly snake!

When we hear words from others or those in our own minds that don’t line up with what God has to say about us, we must consider the question, WHO TOLD YOU THAT?”

If it wasn’t God, we must dismiss the allegations and accept truth in who we were called to be even when it doesn’t look like it.

You are a child of God

A Royal Priesthood

Hand picked and Chosen

Have an inheritance from your Father

Have many gifts

Are valuable and Precious

And so much more!

Believe it and conduct yourself as the Prince and Queen that you really are! Now, WHO told you that! Carry on!

Until Next Time, Happy Sunday!

Soulful Sunday – Try Me! (Saith The Lord)

Some people muddle through life in great confusion. Most don’t even know it. Unfortunately, this produces inconsistencies, denial, ill choices, negative outcomes, mental instability and delayed blessings.

When we try living separate and apart from God convincing ourselves that we have control over our circumstances, we rob ourselves and those connected to us from a multitude of favor.

Since God does not affect our “Free Will” and allows us to choose our own way, He patiently awaits for us to go through enough in hopes that ultimately we will Surender to Him!

“Try Me!” Sayeth The Lord

When you can’t figure it out.

When you loose control over your lifestyle.

When you can’t find your way.

When you are down to your last.

When those who were once there suddenly are no longer.

When you are left all alone.

When sickness invades your body.

When poverty threatens your household.

When……(Well, you fill in the blank)

There is nothing in this world more consistent than what God can reveal, promise and deliver.

When you reach that point in your life where no answers can be provided, nothing makes sense and people fail you miserably, ask the Lord what you should do. Listen and His response will most likely be, “Are You Done? Now Try Me!”

Until Next Time, Happy Sunday!

Soulful Sunday – It’s Harvest Time!

Fall is simply one of the most beautiful times of the year in my opinion. The crisp cool breeze in the air, especially in the evenings, feels so brisk. I love to take deep inhales as the playful breezes rush across my face, into my nose and fills my lungs with a satisfying freshness.

The nighttime skys now graces its presence a little earlier. Stars seem to double in capacity, brightness and diamond-like glitter. The moon also seems to have a distinctness. It seems bolder and fuller in the fall.

During the day, the trees are undeniably breathtaking as they begin to transform. The warm multi colors of the leaves are indeed my favorite. On a scenic drive, I am alway captivated by the height of the beautiful transition that only the hand of God can inspire.

Fall is also a time for harvest. All of the backbreaking sacrificial labor sown in the previous months are now producing long awaited crops. Fruits, vegetables, and grains spring forth in abundance and will be gathered for storage.

This process of abundant collecting is not only applicable to the agricultural world but to all things of the Spirit. Seed, time and harvest is upon the Body of Christ in this 4th quarter of the year. Are you in position to retrieve the profit that’s rightfully due you?

Are you prepared in your faith, with your nets, with your barns and are your hands and windows open to receive? Expectations must be present at this time for if you have sown you WILL also reap.

Some of you may have grown weary in your wait. I am hear to remind you to prepare now for your gathering season is upon you! God has not forgotten the time you’ve spent, the blessings you’ve sacrificed, your acts of obedience and the times you’ve denied yourself so that others could prosper.

Every seed that you’ve sown earlier this year is about to show up in excess! Our Father in Heaven has showered much rain this past spring and summer to water what you’ve planted. It’s been in the ground going through a metamorphosis and will soon shoot forth. Get in position, for its Harvest Time!

Until Next Time, Happy Sunday!

Soulful Sunday – The Curse Breaker

There is always one called to break repetitive, vicious and toxic cycles. This one must endure challenges, scrutiny and pressures that those before them were unable to perceive as possible; unable to recognize; unable to face; unable to sustain…

Generational curses threaten an entire line of people mainly connected by blood. Those already amongst us and those yet to come. They are negative behavior patterns and experiences that recreate themselves living over and over, and over again…..

Those in the line of fire to inherit what often times seems inevitable, face life crippling struggles that are self and generationally destructive. By way of observation, learned behaviors and knowing no other way, generational curse batons are passed down unintentionally and sometimes on purpose.

The most obvious and catastrophic can include:

Alcoholism

Drug addiction

Physical abuse

Sexual obsessions

Womanizing

Mental Instability

Poverty

Incest

Obesity

Hereditary medical conditions

This list is not all inclusive but provides a general picture of generational curses suffered by hundreds of thousands of people everywhere; everyday.

The enemy wants you to think that you can never break free or avoid these patterns all together. He is a liar and that’s what he does. Just because one or more of your family members have lives wrecked by these issues, does not mean your outcome is destined to be the same. Once you recognize the adverse patterns that now want to live on through your children, you must be strong enough to break the cycle for good!

The quest will be challenging for the enemy will not let you go without a serious fight. He wants to continue living on through the curse. This will be the fight of your life!

Your power and strength to overcome lie in The Savior. Just as the generational curse is blood born so is your breakthrough into generational blessings. Christ died and shed His precious blood to break the captive ties that bind.

Today marks the first day of The week considered “Holy”. The very essence of what Christ did for us over 2000 years ago is reflected upon and remembered. He paid the ultimate price for all matters we face including generational curses. He took even that to the cross with Him.

If you feel ensnared by a curse attached to your family and desperately want to be free, know that you can trade you natural blood line in for the shed blood of Christ. He is the sure way to change the course of your future and beyond forever!

Until Next Time

Happy Palm Sunday

Soulful Sunday – The Underdog

I have resided in the small state of Delaware for the past 12 years however, I migrated to this tiny wonder from the City of Brotherly Love. A Philly girl I am through and through! Born, raised and still retain traits that the town still pulses through my veins!

Although not a true fan of football, this past week I certainly spilled over with hometown delight for the EAGLES as they soared to victory and finally won the super bowl! The feeling was undeniable as I cheered, shouted and nearly came close to tears amongst the company of family, friends and other loved ones. It was just over the top amazing! I felt extremely blessed to have lived to see such a history making moment with this team that people have consistently labeled “The UnderDog”!

“They”re not going to win”, many predicted.

“They’ve gotten to this point before and blew it”, others taunted…

“See, they let them come back in the 4th quarter. They’re going to lose again” were the overwhelming premature words of this team’s doubters.

But in the end, the EAGLES pulled together as a cohesive unit, strategized with precision, put their faith in God and ultimately prevailed!

During this journey on my way to becoming a successful author, I can relate to the sentiments and stigma of being an underdog.

All the odds appear against me. No one before me has accomplished anything so big. The competition is massive making me appear like a tadpole swimming in an ocean full of privileged sharks. Yet I have to remain in the fight, give my dreams a chance and believe in the gifts that have only come from my savior.

This means pushing through the negative murmuring in my head. Ignoring the many critical stares. Discounting the lack of supportive and authentic acknowledgements from those I thought would naturally be there.

The course can sometimes be excruciating, but just like the EAGLES, I prevail daily as I refocus my eye on the Lord. I know I’m in the 4th quarter of my journey and I too will bring home the prize.

Do you feel like an underdog today?

Know that the emotion comes with the territory for those called to do extraordinary things!

You can’t turn back or give up now for close you certainly are.

No matter how things appear, we have the greater one on our side and that’s all we’ll ever need! He doesn’t lie and can never fail! We will succeed!

So join me and pull your emotions together by gearing up! Huddle with your true supporters to reignite your enthusiasm! Get in formation at the line of scrimmage looking your opponents dead in the eye! Hike your ball and execute the play as planned! Shoot for your own personal touchdown and win this game! Your trophy, ring and parade certainly awaits. It’s time for the “Underdog” in you to triumph!

Until next Time,

Happy Sunday!

Soulful Sunday – Wailing In My Wait

There are times when I am not extremely thrilled with God’s timing towards matters in my life. I feel like I’ve been waiting an exceptionally long time for supernatural words to manifest into the natural.

In fact, just this week I had been rather silent in my prayer life; annoyed more so at myself because of how redundant my prayers have been sounding. I was also trying to avoid complaining and speaking the wrong emotional words out into the atmosphere.

I made a choice to be mute until I could adjust my attitude but still walked in the spirit of discontentment.

Fast forward a few days later, I finally opened my mouth to talk with my Savior but I found myself wailing. I released how I was feeling with an ocean of tears, repented for not talking and entertaining the voice of the accuser then gave thanks in praise for hope I still have in His promises.

In life we sometimes will get discouraged as we call out to God for certain situations to change. This is especially true of those that we have been waiting to adjust for a lengthy period of time. Waiting can be exceptionally hard at times and a sense of desperation rises up which can cause our flesh to wail.

God knows and sees it all but truly has things already worked out for our good. We can confirm the same is true by considering if what we seek Him for lines up with His Word and how he delivered us from the last situation we wailed over.

Trying times and challenges we will have always but our God is truly faithful to see us through our circumstances. He’s never failing!

Wailing in our waiting times can be necessary in order to push through with a praise. So release your negative thoughts and energy today in your personal time with God. Then let Him know how grateful you are, how much you still Trust Him and how much you still love Him.

He shall wipe away all of our tears and still has plans for our lives that will certainly come to pass after our wail and our wait.

Until next Time,

Happy Sunday!

Soulful Sunday – Condemnation & Conviction- The Difference

Since we all live in flesh, that fact alone guarantees that each one of us will make decisions and do things contrary to the word of God. It’s just human nature and practically unavoidable at times.

As we grow spiritually, we do get stronger at avoiding the traps of temptation, but we all will still fall short periodically. During this process, others will judge our lives, question our salvation, and criticize our character. Unfortunately, this too comes with the territory and takes a daily spiritual fight to advance in our Christ-like positions.

As we journey, it’s critical to assure we are not handling the mistakes we will sometimes make using the wrong tactics and state-of-mind.

Sometimes, believers can confuse operating in condemnation vs. conviction. There are stark differences between the two that we must keep in the front of our minds.

When we condemn ourselves after making a mistake, we have issued a personal charge to an extended period of mental punishment, blame and rebuke. Condemnation is a tactic from the enemy to make us feel bad indefinitely, walk In unforgiveness towards ourselves and try to make us feel like we are no longer worthy of all that God has for us.

Conviction is rather a gentle “Check” in our spirits from The Lord to aid us in not finding comfort in behavior that doesn’t reflect His Character. We should never beat ourselves up at this nudge but rather take note and work at making corrections in our conduct so that we can continue to grow in Him.

Are you downcast today because of something you did or said to another?

Are you torturing yourself mentally and not feeling deserving of God’s love?

Are you allowing the slurs of others who witnessed what you did wrong to stop your hand and heart from praising our Savior?

Let me encourage you today to know that you’re not the only one! I know what occurred felt unfixable but that’s a lie from Hell and a way to keep you from the comfort of God’s arms. His grace and His mercy are still for you! Stop mentally bashing yourself with condemnation but rather accept the conviction and move on with God! He’s still and always will be for you! That settles it!

Until Next Time,

Happy Sunday

Soulful Sunday – Seasons of Favor

When I woke up this morning, I felt a sense of gratitude to see yet another dawning but still perplexed that today is the final one of 2017.

This emotion has been rather consistent at the close of the past several years. I simply accredit the feeling to the process of maturity. I no longer take new days, weeks nor years for granted. Rather I embrace them with thanksgiving that My Savior gave me another chance.

I feel a season of favor is at hand. Not just upon my life, but many who will receive and perceive it with the right state of mind.

This “ Favor” I speak about is defined as a wave of blessings expected and unexpected. A massive switch in life’s normal outcomes that keep us at a status quo. An elevation to another level that we once only dreamed of is now becoming a tangible reality!

This is certainly the season I personally believe I am in. What will manifest in 2018 is going to blow me away! I just feel it and God has revealed it! For those reading this who believe the same is true in your own lives, you, I, we, must prepare to embrace this great takeover!

For all others considering these words, “Favor” doesn’t happen for everyone simultaneously. However, it does occur none-the-less if we are accurately positioned. How big that wave of “Favor” comes is strictly up to us individually and is directly connected to how much we believe.

This can’t be done without a level of faith coupled by natural acts we are all responsible for doing in order to bring that “Favor” into our realities. As we move into action, God will move with us operating in those areas that we have no control over. That’s Indeed The Formula For Favor!

If you don’t feel that you are in this season right now, that’s ok. We are not suppose to be at the same time. During these times of stillness we must be very careful not to become envious of others who are experiencing their overflow for they were once in a calm themselves. It’s just their time!

Yours WILL come if you are taking the necessary steps to get there. Until then we are to genuinely celebrate one another at every advance and realize that the spirit of jealousy is a trick from the enemy to cause a divide, distraction and a delay.

Instead of focusing too deeply on another’s progress, take this time to

Restrategize, be supportive, serve others, and seek God for direction on how to advance the agenda He’s called you to. The opportunity is there for us all just at separate times.

As we usher in 2018 in just a few hours, make it a point to get closer to God so that you may find out what your personal “Favor” looks like. Write out the vision, cheer on others then watch “The Suddenly” overtake you at it’s due time!

Until next Time,

Happy Sunday and Happy New Year!

Soulful Sunday – A Wake Up Call For Christians!

Many believers make Christianity look incredibly undesirable and not worth the conversion effort. The world looks upon us and struggles to see true benefits of walking with Christ.

With too many religious practices, limited reflections of how “fun” can be had and often appearing like the majority is barely making it, I can see why non-believers choose to remain just that! It does not appear corporately that the Body of Christ is prospering.

Now I’m not talking about mere material things. Although essential in life, this is the least of things I am referring to.

I’m referring to complete prosperity in the totality of man.

*Success in our relationships

*True redemption in our health

*Consistency in our conduct

*Overflow in our finances

Instead many of us are divorcing at the same pace as the world, are dying before our time, act as if we’ve never confessed the prayer of salvation and constantly struggle in lack or “Just Enough”.

We make it seem like the devil takes better care of his than God ever promised His children that He would!

As a result, the world struggles to respect our position and our purpose in the gospel. This is exactly what the enemy wants.

Christ indeed paid it all! So why are we not reaping all that He laid His life down for?

It’s our lack of FAITH!

It’s The words we speak contrary to His promises!

It’s the company we keep!

It’s the voices we entertain when we are alone!

Many of us need to REALLY try God at His very Word! Put a demand on Heaven and stop making Christianity look so unattractive!

Just think of what could happen if you routinely did the opposite REGULARLY!

Instead of giving up on your relationships and seeking the easy way out, Walk In Love with people until change comes.

What about writing and speaking out declarations over that illness DAILY while you do what you must in the natural regarding diet and exercise.

Challenge yourself to be a better representative of Christ in your character to win those who don’t believe.

Truly trust God with your finances by managing your money according to His plan and not your own which probably is not working anyway.

How much more would our Heavenly Father blow us away with His goodness when we truly activate FAITH? It’s the very element that keeps us from living that abundant life that He promised us.

Make a decision today to prepare to go into the new Year REALLY believing and trusting God. This cannot be done with mere words but also in action and deed. God has already done all that He will. It’s up to us to move and ignite in FAITH in order to see all His promises TRULY come to pass!

Until Next Time, Happy Sunday!
