Soulful Sunday – In God We Trust

As we all know, our country has been faced with dramatic and unpredicted changes recently. It’s unfortunate and distressing when considering the alarming number of crushed hearts of at least half of all Americans. An intense level of betrayal, deceit and devastation concerning the reality of our government system is felt today by hundreds of thousands of people.

Have our voices been silenced? Do we have a say? Have our concerns been diminished to trivial values amongst those who have never had to be concerned about economic provision, healthcare, workforce security and other means of survivor essentials? These and many more are the questions of the middle class and a percentage of others who feel disrespected by recent outcomes.

In spite of it all; our perceptions, feelings and personal predictions, we really have no other choice but to make plans to move forward. There is no benefit of remaining stuck and planted in a dead place of division.

I personally have tried desperately not to speak on this matter after seeing the incredible outpour on the news and on social media. I initially took the position that if I can’t say anything of worth then I must remain silent until wisdom prevails.

So today I will address the matter indirectly and more so from my spirit. I will share that my greatest concern to date is that our international adversaries are watching, finding humor and pleasure in our partition. They are scrutinizing our conduct closely and have deemed our nation as less powerful than we use to be. In my opinion, if we don’t get a grip we are creating a man-made perfect storm for disaster that we have yet to experience. While our backs are turned pointing fingers, causing riots and hating one another, they plot to scheme and destroy.

My words do indeed mimic those of others who have encouraged our country to come together as a united front in this very hour. We need as many voices of reason as possible. The greatest of these is from The word of God who has not changed His mind or position concerning us, His children.

“In God We Trust” is a more powerful statement today for me personally as a believer. It should be for us all. It’s not just a cliche scribed on our monetary exchange or just something to say because other words are far and few. Our Nation was established on the saying and analyzing what it TRULY means is more critical now than ever before.

It means that if we do not, we will remain devastated, hopeless and face failure in countless areas of our lives. Emptiness will remain:

If your trust is in your job.

If your trust is in your money.

If your trust is in making your own way.

If your trust lies in one man in the Oval Office.
If your trust solely depends on your Pastor, teacher, mentor and others wrapped in human flesh that have been placed on a pedestal only meant for The Lord!

None of these have the ability to affect, change or redirect what was already predestined for your life!

Developing and being rooted in Trusting a God that we cannot see can be difficult living in the natural. But when the odds are weighed we cannot afford to operate in this realm indefinitely. Focus on the spirit within you to quiet the noise, fuss and opinions you hear in order to elevate that assuring small voice who is sure to remind you, “I’ve got this, STILL!”

Until next time, Happy Sunday!

Women of Wisdom – Pastor Barbara Blackston

This word is for the body of Christ in particular. One day while I was in prayer I asked the Lord what else can we as believers do to help this world besides praying. Prayer is good and does have the power to change things, but I was asking specifics on what more is possible. I heard the Spirit of the Lord Say, “Occupy Until I come.”

After hearing this I began to search the Word of God and found Luke 19:11-13 which is a parable or story that Jesus told. It speaks of a nobleman who needed to leave his  servants for a time to establish a kingdom. Before leaving, this man called 10 of his servants, gave them ten minas (one for each of them equivalent to one hundred days of wages) and said “Do business or Occupy until I return.”

Although this portion of scripture relates to money and the Lord expecting his people to do business until he comes back, He showed me that the interpretation surpasses even that. God is reminding His people to take what I have given you and rule, dominate, and seize until I come again.

Before the Lord left us, He supplied His people with 3 very specific tools for use by every believer in our obedience towards doing his business.

1) The Holy Spirit –
The Holy Spirit is to be used in witness and effective ministry amongst the body of Christ and towards those who don’t know Him. We use the Holy Spirit to edify, uplift and encourage others as well as to build up ourselves so that we ourselves can remain strong.

2) The Fruits of theSpirit –
He left us with the fruits of the Spirit which are Love, Patience, Faithfulness, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Joy, Self-Control and Peace. We need to operate in them all to attend to the body of Christ and those who don’t yet belong. It’s our duty to continually show love and compassion because of  the evil and concerns of this world. We must remind and get others to see that God came that we may have an abundant life! (John 10:10).

3) The Anointing –
He gave us the anointing that is useful in breaking every yoke of bondage that people suffer from. We are called to tear down strongholds and things that the world feels that they can’t control or matters that are controlling them. The anointing is also effective in breaking these same matters that try to bind us as well.

In order to assure that we who believe remain focused on this instruction, we need to develop a consistent and purposed routine to get before the Lord. A daily fellowship with Him is necessary. Preferably early in the morning if possible. Start off by first giving him thanks for allowing us to see another day. Read daily devotions and speak aloud affirmations. This process is preparation for the day which sets the precedence for what lies ahead.

Ask God To show you what to do and how you can be used to bless other people. Don’t go out  naked before the world and let the enemy wreak havoc over your life.

Represent the Savior, don’t be moved, overwhelmed, and don’t compromise. This is certainly how we must occupy until his return.

Hope Deferred

I feel like I’ve been waiting for certain things I truly believe are to come to pass in my life for quite sometime now. I’ve seen them and God has shown me my appointed end. Matters relative to family, health, ministry, finances and beyond. Confirmation my spirit has experienced, but as days turn into weeks, weeks into months and months into years, my human heart sometimes grows absolutely sick!

This eager side of my anatomy can often times magnify those voices I have fought fervently to keep silent! I have a goal to be successful in the things of God but they have an agenda to the contrary. This alone assures me that as a Believer, Spiritual Warfare is very much alive and REAL!

Proverbs 13:12 says “Hope deferred makes the heart sick but a promise fulfilled is a tree of life.”

This passage serves further confirmation that as humans we will feel a level of edginess in the waiting on the things of God. This is all because we live in flesh that constantly battles matters of the spirit. Just like in a game of tug-of-war, believers are faced with the challenge daily to remain as the encouraging overcomes that we truly are.

This holds especially true when we feel we have done our part, everything humanly possible to get that dream in motion. We get side tracked by the lack of tangible resources, supporters, connections and the prolonged end result. This is when the enemy can get busy with his lies that our hope shall never be.

But the God we serve never ever fails! For the hasty heart, these reminders are relevant throughout our wait. It’s easy to say but sometimes challenging to do consistently. Our Savior is certainly hard at work in that spiritual realm not visible by our natural eye. The details are tight, specific and will make their presence in His appointed time. The total revelation WILL blow you away! Profection just can’t be rushed!

So what should a faint impatient heart do in between time; in the meantime? Well we need to hold fastto our greatest hope which is in Christ Jesus! There is none other and no other way! Should we choose another route we could go completely insane staring out the window, looking at the clock and flipping through the calendar.

It’s coming!! Stay in Faith, be grateful and thankful that you are called for such a time as this.

If you are still struggling to remain hopeful, prayerfully this post made you smile and laugh. It did for me!😂

God you got this right? I’m chillin!

Time for a Spot Check!

What are you doing and where are you at?

Yes I so boldly begin this post by getting all in your business!!

Oh, By the way,  Happy August!

This glorious month leaves us with just under 5 left in 2016. Time is really flying!!

Which brings me back to my initial inquiry; where are you?

Let’s do a quick life spot check!

Are you still working towards those goals you so enthusiastically set at the New Year or have you run out of steam?

Has life thrown you a few punches leaving you questioning the process?

Are you paralyzed by procrastination due to fear and lack of faith that you too can make it?

Here are some clues that may confirm that you may have lost your way a bit…

Each day looks like the last and hopelessness is setting in.

You have mistaken your career as your life’s purpose putting all your time and energy into what does not and will not produce lasting joy.

You have stopped putting effort into your goals. You’ve lost sight, hope and remain at a standstill.

You are feeling bitter, slighted, antsy, impatient, doubtful, angry and a whole host of other negative emotions….

So these things happen to us all from time-to-time. I have both hands up confessing that these mental barricades have tried to take camp in my journey as well. But I have become radical and refuse to go backwards for there is nothing behind me that’s beneficial. I must keep moving.

So do you! If you are not happy in you relationships, job, business or have qualms with yourself, God has given you all you need to change your circumstances. They won’t alter on their own, YOU MUST DO SOMETHING!

Stop with the excuses, the pity party and the blame games. Especially as believers in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, it’s either we believe his Word or we don’t!

It’s not too late! Five months is still a good bit of time especially since we serve a very Big God who is able to do all things!

What will the end of your 2016 look like? You decide!

Just Keep Believing!

Just a little inspirational quote from yours truly today!

I’m in the process of working towards my destiny and the journey has proven to be extremely challenging! But I know The Lord My God is on my side and working out the details that my natural eyes can’t see! That’s called FAITH!

For those on their own path of dreams, stay encouraged with me and know it’s your time in Jesus Name!!

Happy Friday!

Kish Magazine Article – Believe and Build It!

Hi there readers!! This month’s article published on The Kish Magazine Dreamer’s Blog is another motivational piece about the necessary work efforts when you are striving towards destiny!

We all have dreams but along the journey towards them we meet so many obstacles!!! No one is exempt! I’m preaching to myself as I pen these words! It’s challenging to stay inspired and to keep going at times. I know my natural mind asks often, “Is this really going to happen for me? Will it come to pass?”

Of course it will because my Abba Father already said so in Jeremiah 29:11. I know that my dreams line up with the gifts He’s given me and He’s shown me the end in visions. As I travel, He sends beautiful people my way to cheer me on and reminds me that I must not grow faint!

I give that same to you because iron must sharpen iron so that we hold each other accountable to not give up!

Here is the link to the article entitled “Believe and Build it!”  (God has now blessed me with my own column on the site so I am truly grateful!)

Believe and Build it!

Be inspired and share what God has done in your life relevant to your purpose! It’s going to unfold just as he ordained it so just keep moving!!

Blessings always!
