I had someone recently respond to one of my blog post who said they don’t believe in God. The remark didn’t surprise me because Non-Believers are alive and well in our country. It’s their constitutional right as an American and human being to believe however they choose. No judgement here but rather a sincere level of empathy! (Unfortunate how much they are missing out on😕)
Regardless of our beliefs there is no arguing that life is difficult at times. For a unique selection of people, that remark is a gross understatement! While we all will face a major challenge at some point in our lives, there are a core group that will go through unimaginable, insurmountable, breathtaking circumstances and then survive them all! It’s not by their own choices, will or might….
In this level of pain is where I absolutely believe God resides! For there is no other explanation of how a person made it out. Doctors can’t explain, lawyers don’t know how the case was won, philosophers can’t produce a theory, family and friends gave up; BUT GOD! The survival was not by human efforts but something far beyond that surface or deepest level of intellect. It’s Super Natural deliverance by the Great I AM! Any other credit-taking is just plain old arrogance!
I survived a “Job Like” experience several years ago and I was completely manic throughout it all! Oh how I wish I could say I worshipped the entire time and never sinned against God, but unlike the honorable character Job in the Bible, I failed my tests miserably!!!! the trial lasted 3 years and I despised what I was going through. It was agonizing at every turn.
I walked away from God because I was angry about my circumstances and came close to believing that he cared or was even real.
Inspite of my rebellion I began experiencing blessings and miracles that I could not explain. I ultimately humbled myself with acts of repentance and returned to his arms. Separating myself from His shelter caused me more harm in the long run. I am truly thankful that just because I left him that He never left me!
I can not fathom for the life of me why some refuse to know that He simply is!
Even with repeat signs, wonders, testimonies and reference, many hearts remain hard to his existence.
How do you deal or respond to people who say they don’t believe in God?
What approach in ministering to this group of people do you think is effective?
For now I just pray for them that one day their eyes will be opened to see and experience him in all his Glory. Oh come taste and see that the Lord is oh so good!
Happy Sunday😇
I’m gonna reblog this right now

There is no such thing as an atheist. Atheist are people who, for one reason or another, have turned their back on God or even hate God. If they truly did not believe in God, they wouldn’t care if others did so.

Interesting point, but it’s not that simple. I once considered myself either an agnostic or an atheist, so having since been born again, I’m trying to remember my mindset back in college. It’s a combination of ignorance, pride, deceit, foolishness, etc. I will say that my senior year of college, Jesus revealed Himself to me exactly as He did to John on Patmos in Rev. 1:14 – I suddenly KNEW HE was real, that He was the source and embodiment of LOVE and LIFE. And yet, I did not receive Him until midlife. Go figure!

It usually is a pride issue or an anger issue. I’ve know people who blame God for suffering in their lives when, if they are honest with themselves, it is they who are to blame.

Very interesting Deanna! I honestly did not know the difference. The most important thing to me here is that you came to know God and Jesus Christ are very Real! For that I’m grateful💕

The term seems to be used interchangeably as I consider some things I have found on the Internet which makes it confusing. Since that is the case I will change the word on this post. Intent was not to get hung up on the term but to just consider those who don’t believe in God at all. I don’t know enough about them so will gladly change the wording. Thanks!

When I hear people say that they don’t believe in God, I DON’T BELIEVE THEM! Let me share this quick story. On a job I had years ago, a who knows that I am a Christian came to me and said that he does not believe all of this bible stuff. He said that it is like a fairy tale. He said that there is no way that he believes in any of it. I did not argue with him. Two years later he made his way to my car as soon as I pulled in the parking lot at work. He approached me and said that his daughter had been in a terrible accident and it was not looking good for her. “When you’re on your knees tonight praying, send one up for me”, he said. I looked at him and responded, “who do you want me to send one up to since you don’t believe in God”. He said, “You know what I mean.” Of course I know what he means. He, like some others, only want and need God when it is convenient or when they need something from God.
Romans 14:11 KJV For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Well Glory to God for this story! Did you pray for that co-worker? Do you know how his child is doing or if he ever changed his mind about God being real? Many come to God during times of tragedy but the most important thing is that they come! Wow! Thanks for sharing! Every knee will indeed bow!

Shortly thereafter, his wife filed for divorce, and his job was eliminated. I did pray for him but I have no idea how him or his daughter is doing. I don’t think she died.

I hear people say there is no God. Jesus is not his son. I say this if Jesus is not the son of God. Why the world is always trying to destroy Christianity? Why people don’t want you to say the name Jesus. If you don’t believe in something you are not going to care what people say. As stated earlier I would rather believe and ensure my place in Heaven than not believe and find out God is real and I chose to listen to the world. I know who substain me. Remember everyone will know the name Jesus and have a opportunity to accept him or reject. God give us free will. What we do with our choice is up to us, but just like anything we have to stand by our decision. You can either be God or burn in the lake of fire. The choice is ours, and I choose Jesus.

Awesome input cheesey21! You are so right! The world is certainly spending a great deal of time trying to rid itself of a name they don’t believe in! An angle to really ponder on. Let the believe how the wish, scripture still remain , that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord! (Romans 14:11 & Phillipians 2:10-11) Thank for tuning in on the conversation my friend!😇

The first part of this post about how life is difficult is something I have been pondering upon today. Life is indeed difficult, we can’t deny that at all. But we this hope as an anchor for our souls-one of my fav verses this seasons.

Hope in the Lord Our God is all I have to keep my sanity Colleen. Like the saying goes, I would rather live my life believing he is real and die to find out that he is not than to live as if he is not real and die to find out that HE IS! Thanks for chiming in love💕

Great post. Some of it touched on what our sermon was about this morning. For me I pray for all but haven’t experienced anyone who has said they do not believe. I would simply say that I do, he is real in my life and I believe if you look around at the wonders of life, there is only one answer, God. Have a Blessed day.

Hi Corrie! Thanks for chiming in on this conversation! What a blessing that you haven’t encountered anyone who does not believe in God. Sadly, there are soooo many. They may believe in a higher power but refer to it as The Universe and deny actually acknowledging God. So glad he is real to both you and countless others who follow this blog. Blessings alway!😊

Some people will always find an explanation other than to believe in God. What we have to do is live a good life and treat everyone with love.

In answer to your question, always follow Jesus: do only what the Father is doing, and say only what the Father is saying. A Christian consecrated to God accomplishes great exploits because she has died to self and lets the resurrected Lord live HIS Life in and through her. 😊
